SEIJI R&D Division No.1, Pump Group No.2 Joined in 2019
I have been interested in manufacturing since I was a child, and aspired to be a manufacturer in job hunting. When choosing a company, I focused more on "whether the company has room for growth" and "whether there is a culture where I can taken on challenges" rather than "what the company is making". In briefing session I was explained that the automotive industry is currently in the midst of a transformational period, among them TBK have gained a high share and are actively engaged in new manufacturing and there are many young engineers working actively. My expectations such as "This company will continue to grow" and "I think I can do interesting work here." have grown at that time. Another factor for joining TBK was that I felt that the research on the flow path at the space station, which I was working on at graduate school, could be utilized at TBK.
The R&D Division No.1 Pump Group No.2, which I belong, is a department that develops automotive pumps for overseas manufacturers. I disassemble the prototype pump that has been tested by our business partner, the engine manufacturer, and check and verify whether it has been damaged. Although I learned the basic knowledge necessary for development at university and graduate school, I still have little knowledge about pumps, and this verification work is a great opportunity to understand its structure. In addition, I was able to master how to use tools such as drilling machines and measuring instruments through this work, which helped me improve my skills. In addition, I am also in charge of strength tests for component selection and design support. I often have the opportunity to travel to the Fukushima Plant and this travel gives me a good refreshment.
TBK handles everything related to manufacturing from planning and development to manufacturing, sales, and after-sales follow-up. That is why, as developers, we have a very good environment in which we can quickly and accurately catch customer needs, develop the products, and link them to mass production in manufacturing sites. I was able to get involved in working with a well-known company that I had longed for when I was a student, and I feel a great feeling from the first year of joining the company. What I would like to convey to all students is, "If you are interested in manufacturing, I would like you to take on the challenge first." After joining TBK, you will be able to acquire the knowledge and skills necessary for your work. I'm still inexperienced, but I would like to grow together with everyone who will join TBK.
